UH30105 Large Japanese Yamagata Kokeshi, Yamagata prefecture, a hardwood tapering columnar body with sloping shoulder, globular head, painted with three section bangs, the pony tail tied with a red bow as well as the side locks, large black eyes, double dash nose, tiny red lips, the body decorated in solid lathe bands of red and black with the center decoration scraped away of two stalks of bamboo and two plovers. Ink signature  on the base "Kawamura Akitsugu". Excellent condition. 14-1/2" high x 4" in diameter. 20th Century.
