NH12141 Japanese pair of isho kasane-dansu (stacking clothing chest) entirely crafted of kiri (Paulownia tomentosa) in sturdy thick proportions having iron hardware with chased round lock plates in bird and flower blossom motif, trimmed in brass, heavy bale shaped handles with simple back plates and corner/joint covers, the lower sections having two drawers, the upper sections having three drawers, each section with side interlocking handles. Washed finish, minor signs of use otherwise fine condition. Measuring: 42-1/4” High x 79” Wide x 16-3/4” Deep. Meiji Period, circa 1900.
