NG74004 Japanese Takeda Ningyo of a kabuki actor in the role of an archer, a dramatic rendition with left leg on a wood stump and the right foot extended forward, costumed in fine brocades, the pants in an unusual carb and wave pattern, embroidered chirimen sleeves depicting a field curtain, the head carved of wood and covered in slightly pigmented gofun with painted features in a grimacing expression, all supported on a Takeda style stage box base with inset embroidered panel. Restorations to the textiles (new  cuffs) otherwise fine condition. Measuring: 14” High, Overall 21” High x 13” Wide x 9-1/2” Deep. Edo Period, Circa 1820. $3,200.
