UH10025 Northern Thai Buddhist painting on cloth of  a red cloaked monk on a raised pedestal underneath a tree giving a sermon to five crowned, kneeling and praying divinities, possibly a scene from the story of Phra Malai. Losses to pigments, water staining near the bottom, cloth glued down to board, overall fair condition. Painting: 29-1/4” x 20-1/4” , Frame: 36-1/4” x 27-1/4”. 19th Century.
