NH22032 Japanese Gosho Ningyo, a palace figure of a young noble boy seated with his feet extended forward holding a gold leafed folding signal battle fan in his right hand above his head (a symbolic wish for strength and leadership), costumed in a orange layered silk kimono, the figure carved of kiri (Paulownia) covered in multiple layers of burnished gofun with painted features and inset hair. Minor surface crack alongside the nose, cracks to the gofun surface on the body, minor signs of age otherwise fine condition. Measuring: 12” High x 10” Wide x 8” Deep.
