UH30125 Small Japanese Nakanosawa Kokeshi, Fukushima prefecture, by Seya Shigeharu (1924-1973), a Tako Bozo (an octopus with a monk’s shaven head) form, narrow columnar body, sloping shoulder, narrow neck, square globular head, facial features with bikkuri-me (surprised open eye), surrounded by a pink blush, (neko-bana) "U" nose, and hair depicted in black, the body decorated in bands at the neck and base with a large open peony blossom on the shaft. Ink signature  on the base, "Shigeharu". Excellent condition. 6-1/8" high x 1-1/4" in diameter. 20th Century.
