UH11006 Japanese album leaf painting from the Gikei-ki (Life of Yoshitsune) of the famous meeting of Musashibo Benkei and Ushiwaka-maru at the Gojo Bridge, the scene depicting the young Yoshitsune on the bridge clutching his fan being spotted by Benkei just crouching down at the base of the bridge clutching his naginata, all painted in ink, mineral and gold pigments in detail on paper with speckled gold leaf mist. Water stains, minor losses and signs of wear otherwise good condition.
