UH11015 Japanese album leaf painting from the Heike Monogatari of Kajiwara Kagesue known for going into battle with branches of plum blossom in his quiver, the scene depicting Kagesue in full armor running with his helmet tossed aside, plum branches at his back , his sword drawn and a plum tree nearby, all painted in ink, mineral and gold pigments in detail on paper with speckled gold leaf mist. Water stain and signs of wear otherwise fine condition. 7-7/8” High x 10-3/8” Wide. 18th Century.
